To mark 10 years since the launch of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Association of Flemish Cities and Municipalities (VVSG) has published the new magazine Global Goals, Local Action (September 2025).
Available in both Dutch and English, the publication brings together 12 articles and interviews with local authorities, experts, and partners, reflecting on the evolution and future of local global policy and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The magazine includes a contribution from Peter Wollaert, Managing Director of CIFAL Flanders, who shares reflections on the role of local governments in achieving the SDGs. He highlights the need for stronger political will, the strategic importance of embedding sustainability across all local policy areas, and the value of citizen participation and cross-sector collaboration.
