Glocalising Sustainability & CSR in the Diamond Sector

On the 23^rd of January, Antwerp-ITCCO/CIFAL Flanders organized a tour in the Antwerp Diamond district for Flemish parliamentarians, focusing on best practices, business ethics, transparency and corporate social responsibility in the diamond sector.

Participants got acquainted with the diamond sector, and specific initiatives the sector is undertaking revolving sustainability, such as the Kimberley certificate, the sustainability report of AWDC and the control mechanisms in place for the trade of diamonds in the Diamond Office. Besides AWDC, ABN-AMRO, Rosy Blue and Rio Tinto Diamonds also gave an overview of their most important challenges concerning sustainability.

The Action Learning was organized together with the Antwerp World Diamond Centre, the official representative of the diamond sector in Antwerp.
