Ghent is finalist for the UN SDG Action Awards with the SDG challenges. Ghent as SDG Voice 2017 has challenged 5 other cities in a fun way to do something about the SDGs.

The nomination came for the successful communication campaign SDG Challenges. For this campaign, in 2017 the city government started in a playful manner with five other Belgian cities and brought the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations under the spotlight. Ghent has faced these challenges in the context of their Belgian ambassador for the SDGs.

In total, United Nations SDG Action Campaign received over 740 registrations from seven continents and 125 countries. On 21 March 2018, Bonn (Germany) will announce whether Ghent wins the prize.

More information about the nomination of City Ghent can be found on their website.
