EU Commissioner Reynders commits to introducing mandatory human rights and environmental due diligence obligations  

EU Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders wants European businesses to take human rights due diligence more seriously. Therefore, by 2021 new legislation will be introduced concerning human rights and environmental due diligence, which will include liability and enforcement mechanisms and access to remedy provisions for victims of corporate abuse.
